* Vinyl also requires added chemicals to make it flexible.

* One particular manufacturer has a vinyl mattress that has an antibacterial Staph Guard coated on it. Again, not only is the vinyl manufactured with harmful chemicals, this manufacturer does not release all of the materials used to produce the Staph Guard.

For all of those out there that are looking for the safest crib mattress for that new baby, there is good news. There are manufacturers out there that do make safe mattresses. You can find a mattress that contains no harmful chemicals or allergens for your baby.
